Varee Poochareon, M.D.
Dr. Varee N. Poochareon is a board-certified dermatologist, with certification in medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. A Miami native, Dr. Poochareon earned her undergraduate degree in biology through the prestigious dual degree Honors Program in Medicine at the University of Miami, graduating cum laude, with minors in religious studies and in geography and regional studies. At the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, Dr. Poochareon went on to receive her medical degree with research distinction. She was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha National Medical Honor Society and awarded the “Best Student Award” in Dermatology, as well as the John K. Robinson Grant for Student Initiatives for her prolific research and many publications, most significantly in the areas of sun protection education and scars.
Dr. Poochareon completed both her internship in internal medicine and her residency in dermatology and cutaneous surgery at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine / Jackson Memorial Hospital. During this time, she continued to publish peer-reviewed articles and book chapters, and earned grants from the Women’s Dermatologic Society and American Society for Dermatologic Surgery for preceptorships in cosmetic dermatology and dermatology for ethnic skin. Dr. Poochareon is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology.
In her free time, she enjoys national and international travel, cooking, and exercising.
